Gwent Police say they got reports of a mishap close to Newport at around 9pm on Monday. Officials were shipped off the scene and say that three vehicles a BMW X4, a Vauxhall Agila and a Volkswagen Polo – were engaged with the accident on the eastward carriageway between intersection 28 Tredegar Park and intersection 29 at Cardiff.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a 52-year-old Newport man, was articulated dead at the scene and his closest relative have been educated and are getting support from expert officials.

A 34-year-elderly person, from Cardiff, was captured on doubt of causing demise by perilous driving and stays in police guardianship as enquiries proceed.

Administrator Mike Richards said: “While our officials keep on working at the location of the impact, all paths of the motorway between intersections 28 and 30 on the eastward side are presently shut and redirections are right now set up with this episode as yet progressing.

“We realize that there is probably going to be an elevated degree of movement disturbance so we’re requesting that drivers stay away from the area and follow the redirections which are set up.”
